PlanItWisely Student Information System

The MathSpin Series is for K through 6th grade:

MathSpinK - counting

  • Finger Counting - 1 to 10 with audio of our 5 year-old daughter speaking the numbers
  • 12 Days of Christmas - Counting 1 to 12 with graphics of each of the 12 days including narration from our 11 year old daughter
  • Train Car counting - 1 to 5 with cute graphics of a train with our 3 year old speaking 1 to 5
  • Princess Counting - 1 to 10 with shiny pretty things and our 5 year-old daughter speaking the numbers

MathSpin1 - Addition and Subtraction

  • Basic Addition and Subtraction for early elementary grade level (i.e.: K to 1st grade, also useful for higher grades as they refresh their basics)
  • Spin, Select, and Check answers with interactive correct and incorrect pop-up messages as well as happy and sad face counters.
  • The spinner generates random operations to thoroughly test the child.
  • Spin all three columns by hitting the Spin Button Bar at the bottom of the number dials.
  • Counters can be reset by touching the purple hand at the top right corner.
  • Student or teacher can also selectively spin the operand 1 and 2 columns to practice at their own pace.
  • Select from a pick list of results instead of typing in an answer or selecting from multiple choice answers.
  • Start the child thinking about addition or subtraction by starting the picker at operand 1 and counting forward for addition or backwards for subtraction while scrolling the picker.
  • Audio "musical/percussion" sounds have been selected to help provide the child positive, negative, spin, and reset feedback.
  • Results are currently set to a maximum of 24 for lower grade elementary school students.
  • Timer has been added to Addition and Subtraction
  • Timer can be set between 1 and 10 minutes.
  • Chinese (Han) Counting, Addition and Subtraction - numbers are also used in Japan and Korea
  • With Chinese Counting, numbers are read by our 11 year old in Mandarin
  • Correct and Incorrect counters can be reset by tapping either panda bear.
  • Mayan numbers have been added between 1 and 19 - Mayan numbers are useful in teaching groups of 5 where the line equals a group of 5 dots.
  • Mayan Addition and Subtraction then reiterates the concepts
  • Correct and Incorrect counters can be reset by tapping either llama.

MathSpin2 - Multiplication and Division

  • Basic multiplication and division for early elementary grade level (i.e.: 2nd to 3rd grade, also useful for higher grades as they refresh their basics)
  • The dividend and divisor columns have been configured to load multiples. For example selecting a divisor of 5 will show only the multiples of 5 in the dividend.
  • Unique Features to Multiplication: The result column only reflects results in the times table for 1 to 12.
  • Select minutes using the slider between 1 and 10 minutes. The slider defaults to 3 minutes.
  • Start the timer with the green button
  • The slider then converts to a progress bar which shows the time
  • Reset the timer and counts with the Red button.

MathSpin3 - Inequalities

Six math games in 1 app

Teach >, <, and =

Build upon basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with your students.

As a parent, teacher, and tutor this application allows your student(s) to learn interactively through random spinning dials and solving math problems with timed drills varying between 1 and 10 minutes.

Features and Benefits include:

  • Greater than (>), less than (<), and equal to (=) for addition, multiplication, subtraction, and division
  • Gauged for elementary grade levels (i.e.: 3rd to 4th grade, also useful for higher grades as they refresh their basics)
  • Spin, Select, and Check answers with interactive correct and incorrect pop-up messages as well as happy and sad face counters.
  • The spinner generates random operations to thoroughly test the child.
  • Spin all four columns by hitting the Spin Button at the bottom of the number dials.
  • Counters can be reset by toggling the start and reset timer buttons
  • Student or teacher can also selectively spin the operand columns to practice at their own pace.
  • Audio "musical/percussion" sounds have been selected to help provide the child positive, negative, spin, and reset feedback.

First four games include comparing:

  • Addition and Addition >, =, and <
  • Subtraction and Subtraction >, =, and <
  • Multiplication and Multiplication >, =, and <
  • Division and Division >, =, and <

Addition and Multiplication:

  • Addition is paired with Multiplication to drill inequality and equality
  • The multiplication drills 1 to 12 times table
  • Addition will drill 1 to 72
  • Both will result in a maximum of 144

Subtraction and Division:

  • Subtraction is paired with Division to drill inequality and equality
  • Begin to introduce negative numbers with Subtraction
  • In Division, the dividend and divisor columns have been configured to load multiples. For example selecting a divisor of 5 will show only the multiples of 5 in the dividend.

Timer Features:

  • Select minutes using the slider between 1 and 10 minutes. The slider defaults to 3 minutes.
  • Start the timer with the green button
  • The slider then converts to a progress bar which shows the time
  • Reset the timer and counts with the Red button.
"You can estimate the inequalities but watch out for those equalities!"
